My MG5620 will not print black.

My MG5620 wants me to replace my 251BK refill. I do not want to do that as I have a large 250XL  PGBK cartridge installed which I want it to use for my black printing. Why will it not just use the larger cartridge.

After changing my printer ink cartridge (PIXMA MX492), some of the letters aren't printing out right

I'm trying to print from a PDF file but now it's printing out the H's without the horizontal cross through the middle of the letter and it seems like my alignment is off.  Can anyone give me any advice on how to rectify this?
