My MP480 won't open MP Navigator XP. It says the scanner driver is not installed.

I am trying to open MP Navigator XP and I keep getting the error message that the scanner driver is not installed. I have reinstalled the printer driver about 10 times and I still get the error message.  Please help!!!!

Scanner not working

I have a Canon MG3650 and when I attempt to scan a document it says it is unable to as there is an error or the printer is in use (which it isn't) Can anyone help?
