What to do with a discontinued printer PIXMA MP560

ivanmtz

I recently find out that Canon is not supporting PIXMA MP560. That is a shame since it is such great product.

Given that there is no driver for Windows 11, the printer is useless.

What can I do with the printer? any program where canon would take it back? or recycling facility?

Thank you

Hello Ivanmtz

You can speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to see what your options might be to help get you into a discounted current-generation printer that would be compatible with your current needs. They're at 866-443-8002.

We hope this helps!

Have you tried the printer in Windows 11 using the Windows 10 driver? Just because Canon doesn't provide a Win 11 driver does not mean that Win 10 driver is no good. I have multiple Canon printers that are "not supported" for Win 11, but Windows 8/8.1/10 drivers work fine.  11 is not hugely different from 10 "under the hood".

I know I'm late to the party, but I'll add that I'm running four PCs with Windows 11 and the old driver and the MP Navigator works as intended. What brought me to the forums, however, is because Canon is no longer supporting the MP560, they no longer offer ink cartridges. If you get your printer operating with the old drivers, know that whatever ink you have in the printer now is all you've got.

While Canon no longer lists the printer by model number a check of Amazon shows many third party suppliers and a Canon ink set.

Searching the Canon site by ink type shows still in stock.

Yes, thank you. I am aware, but I don't want to buy third party (especially off Amazon). The last time I bought what was supposed to be genuine Canon ink turned out to NOT be genuine Canon ink and it bricked my very expensive printer.  And yes, I saw that pack of color cartridges was available, but I also need the fat black one and the black is no longer in stock.

Not true at all.  I buy ink (and laser toner) from LD Products. Google them. They carry genuine Canon inks for the MP560, as well as their own label refilled ink cartridges.  Good company, great prices on their refilled products.

Hmmm...by your definition of "third party", you elimiinate anyone except direct from Canon. There are plenty of legitimate dealers who sell Canon ink. LD Products is just one of them.
