TS 3522 error P02

I purchased this printer many months ago and it failed to start properly.  I have just attempted to troubleshoot via You Tube and resolved the E04 ( it took 3 times to get printer to accept the cartridges that came with printer ). 

  It is now displaying an P02 and I have confirmed the orange tape as well as the packing materials have been removed. The paper is not jammed nor has it sent any paper into the printer.  The only other item mentioned was some type of tape inside.

  Maybe someone can assist before I look at getting another printer.

Please follow the steps on this page to resolve the P 0 2 error:

If the error persists, please clean the encoder:

After cleaning the encoder two or more times, if the P 0 2 error remains, your PIXMA TS3522 would require service.

If your PIXMA TS3522 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below:

If your PIXMA TS3522 is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.
