Reset TS3522 Printer to factory defaults

surruh311

This printer worked for me for like 2 seconds and for the past year I haven't used it because its impossible to connect to it from either my phone or my computer. I am at a complete loss and want to try to reset it to factory default settings and just start over, but even the instructions for that are not applicable. The only ones I have been able to find say to press the "setup" button to start but that button is nonexistant on my printer. Is there another way I can restore it?

Hi Surruh311! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you would like to restore your PIXMA TS3522 settings back to the factory defaults so you can start the Wi-Fi Setup over.

This printer has a Setup button. The symbol on this button looks like tools (plier and screwdriver). It is located above the Alarm lamp (orange lamp with the triangle symbol) If you need help finding the Setup button on the printer, please visit the following section of the online manual:

The instructions for resetting the printer’s settings can be found in the following page of the manual:

Thank you so much!! I'm not sure what happened with the connection before but restoring to the factory defaults and starting over worked! I will save this post in case it happens again. Thank you again!

Hello. None of these articles state how to factory reset a Canon TS3522. Please write in the comments step by step how to do so I’m extremely frustrated.

Hi Whatever2023! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you would like to restore your PIXMA TS3522 settings back to the factory default settings. I understand you are getting frustrated.

First, please make sure an error code is not flashing (blinking) in the top right corner of the printer’s display. The error will start with an E or a P. That letter is followed by two numbers. For example, it may be flashing E,0,2 or P,2,2.

You won’t be able to reset the printer if it is displaying an error code. If you see an error, you can try turning the printer off and disconnecting the power cable. If the error code reappears when you turn the printer back on, please write back and provide the code.

If you see a steady number 0 in the top right corner of the printer’s display, you can follow these steps to reset the printer to the factory default setting:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Press the SETUP button repeatedly until you see the number 17 blinking on the printer’s screen. The Setup button has a symbol that looks like a set of tools (plier and screwdriver).
  3. When you see the number 17 blinking on the screen, press one of the Start buttons (Black or Color) at the bottom of the printer’s operation panel. The Start buttons are diamond shaped.

If you need help finding the buttons on the printer, please visit the following section of the online manual:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-160.html

More information about resetting the printer’s settings can be found in the following page of the manual:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TS3500%20series/EN/UG/ug-213.html

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing Canon.

I have a Pixma TS3522.  I printed, went to print again same day  and I have error code E03 flashing. There is no paper jammed in the machine. I am so frustrated. I have turned it off from the power source. Somehow I got the error to clear and I have attempted a factory reset using the setting button and reinstalled it on the app. It wanted to print! but nope, error came back. HELP before this machine becomes e-waste

Hi,

Since there is no paper jam open and close the front cover of the printer and make sure it clicks when closed. Then press the stop button to see if the error clears.

If it does not clear, I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

If the issue persists after following the steps above, the printer will require service.

If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

I'm having similar issues

I've done all the steps above and I still get the flashing E 03!!

I’m having the exact same problem w/error code E03. I got it to print out a non-essential paper with computer information on it so the printer does not have “jam” problems or low ink even tho there’s an orange light under black ink. We haven’t had for very long (Jan) and it’s May. This is by far the worst printer I’ve ever purchased.

Hi,

Since the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.
