PIXMA TR8520a no paper in rear tray error when making a copy

printer worked fine...now when putting paper to be copied on glass...hit copy...get message "no paper in rear tray"...before it would just make copy from front tray and send out...need help...called canon and placed on hold forever

Hi daber,

When using your PIXMA TR8520a to make copies, to select where the paper feeds from, please follow these steps:

1.  Turn you PIXMA TR8520a on.

2.  Tap Copy.

3.  Tap Standard Copy.

4.  Tap Settings.

5.  Scroll down to, and then tap, Paper src.

6.  Choose the location from where you wish the paper to feed from.  If you wish the plain paper to feed from the front tray, please choose Cassette.

7.  Press the Black or Color Start button to begin copying.

patrick...it worked...thank you...do have a question though...before just hit copy and it would copy whatever was on screen though.

Hi daber,

Once you set the source, you will not have to set it again.  You can then perform the copy as you were used to doing.
