PIXMA TR7020a Spotty Wireless Connection

I just Purchased a TR7020a Recently and have been experiencing 50/50 Connection (Moody).. I have been in contact with a Canon Tech, it's a Wireless Connection both Printer & Laptop.. It was suggested the Printer is to far from the Modum(20'/25'at most) ??  My Previous Canon MX452 Wireless Printer was never a Problem, it just wore out.. I have Printer & Laptop setup in the Bedroom, no room in the Livingroom beside the Modum which is connected directly to the cable leading outside and to the Bell Shoebox off the Roof..   My Query, would a USB Cable from Printer to Laptop solve connection problem Finding each other  ??  Also when purchasing something online and You attempt to Print Off a Receipt, do some websites have a Blocker of Sorts preventing you from doing so ??  Opinions Appreciated, Cheers Thanks

Different printer and different modem, but my Pro-100 is more than 25 feet from my modem and I have no connection problems. Amazon does have long printer USB cables so that would be an option. A wired connection is always better.

I have never heard of a blocker that would prevent printing a receipt that was displayed on your monitor. In the extreme just take a screenshot and print the screenshot.
