Which cleaning did you do? Did you also check and if necessary clean the paper path?

Causes of Color Ink Leakage

The issue of color ink leaking along the edges of documents from a PIXMA MG3620 can stem from a few common problems:

  • Clogged Printhead: Dried ink or dust can block the nozzles, leading to improper ink distribution.
  • Misaligned Cartridges: If the cartridges are not properly seated, it can cause uneven ink flow.

Solutions to Fix the Issue

Printhead Cleaning

Running a printhead cleaning cycle is often the first step to resolve ink leakage. This process helps clear any clogs in the printhead nozzles.

  1. Access the Printer Menu: Turn on the printer and navigate to the setup or maintenance section.
  2. Select Cleaning: Choose the cleaning option and confirm to start the process.
  3. Test Print: After cleaning, print a test page to check if the issue persists.

Cartridge Alignment

If cleaning does not resolve the issue, check the alignment of the cartridges:

  • Remove and Reinsert Cartridges: Ensure that each cartridge is properly seated in its slot.
  • Run Alignment Test: Use the printer's built-in alignment function to ensure cartridges are correctly aligned.

Additional Tips

  • Regular maintenance, including cleaning the printhead and checking cartridge alignment, can prevent future issues.
  • If problems continue, consider replacing the cartridges or consulting the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.
