PIXMA MG3620: Unable to save scanned pdf documents

I have a MG 3620 printer. When I scan a document and save it to documents on my computer as a pdf, it deletes it out of documents when I delete it from the scanner. Anyone else have this problem?

Tiffany, I have a Dell desktop running Windows 11 Home. My printer is connected to my computer via a usb printer cable. I never had this problem with my old Canon printer.

Hey, Wayne!

Try reinstalling the Canon software and drivers from this site: https://canon.us/mg3620setup

It will walk you through the whole process as if it's brand new. Let us know how it goes!

Stephen, I clicked on the link to the to the printer setup and it downloaded just fine. I installed the new setup and the driver update and it said that everything was installed. But afterward I test scanned a document and saved it to my Document folder on my computer. I checked that it had been saved to my computer, but when I return to the scanner and try to delete it and previous documents in queue, they all delete from my saved documents folder on my computer.

Check the file naming default you have set in your software; make sure that the scan software is applying unique filenames.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Thanks, I went into the settings application on my printer/scanner and changed it to go directly to my documents folder. I have to change the name of the folder, but that's no big deal. Thanks for the advice.

Greetings,

I'm not clear on what you mean by It deletes from my documents when I delete it from my scanner?  The scanner doesn't save documents.

When you view a document in its destination folder after acquiring it from the scanner, it's not saved until you use the save dialog.  Maybe you can provide the steps you're performing so we can better understand your issue.

When I scan  a document and save it to my documents folder, I can view it as a saved document. Later though if I scan something else the previous document shows up and if I delete it from the scanner it also deletes it from my saved documents folder. My old Canon printer never did that, I wonder why this one does?
