Manual Printhead alignment fail - MG3620

dherna13

I have done the automatic AND manual printhead alignments and I am still getting issues with the printing. Some lines print fine while others are all over the place (see image). Is there a way to physically align this? I have done both kinds of alignment multiple times at this point.  help!20210219_090941.jpg

Hi dherna13,

This can be caused when the encoder/timing strip inside your PIXMA MG3620 is smudged.  Cleaning this will resolve the issue.  To clean the encoder/timing strip, please follow the steps in this Knowledgebase Article:

I have done the strip cleaning on two separate occasions.  Also performed auto alignment and manual alignment 3-5 times.  NOTHING WORKS!  I'm convinced that Canon printers are poorly  made.

Hi rra_78,

If cleaning the encoder strip multiple times does not clear up the printing issue, your PIXMA MG3620 would require service.
