I've been trying to use a thumb drive as my scan destiation for my MX922, but this only worked the first few times. I've since burned through 2 USB drives (no longer initializable/formattable on my computer). I have yet to be able to format a drive to be read by the printer as a scan destination, and each drive I try to use ends up being damaged. There is no guidance I can find by Canon that advises on formatting specs, and I can't find anyone else with this problem. Do I need to do a warranty replacement? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi ThisDangPrinter,
The PIXMA MX922 does not have a USB port for a flash drive. The port on the front of the unit will accept a flash drive, but is designed for printing from PictBridge-enabled cameras. I regret the inconvenience.

The scan menu provides an option to scan to USB thumb drive. It's clearly a feature, but it does not work.
