MX490 software install

I need to help some friends use their MX490 all-in-one.  And to do that, I need to practice with the software and drivers for the printer on my computer.

How can I install the drivers and software when I do not own a canon printer?

You can probably use some of the software w/o printer, but I don't know if the driver will function w/o printer.

But it doesn't want to install w/o the printer. How can I get around that?

You can call 1-800-OK-CANON and talk with them. Maybe they have a way.
