IX 6820 Drivers not installing on Mac OS Monterey 12.4

It's hard enough to find drivers, but when I do they won't install. I'm on an M1 Mac and get the message "Installation failed. Contact software manufacturer, and that's what I'm trying to do.

Thanks @ArthurJ!

Just to let you know "mcpd-mac-ix6800-16_40_1_0-ea21_3.dmg" worked for me on macOS 12.6.1 (Monterey). My process:

  1. download dmg
  2. open dmg
  3. open installer
  4. follow prompts and wait
  5. approve system preferences kext security request (important!)
  6. restart Mac when prompted

After that my printer PIXMA iX6850 was able to be added using the USB connection.

This was very much worth doing for me, for the following two reasons:

  1. there are many more print options over USB compared to AirPrint
  2. I don't have WiFi at my art studio

Well, I can see clearly that Canon doesn't really support Macs. Their attempts to help me amount to run arounds.

Greetings,

Where are you looking for drivers?

The product's support portal is the recommended place to get drivers for your device:

Canon Support for PIXMA iX6820 | Canon U.S.A., Inc.

There is nothing "hard" about finding them there.

I've found them, but they won't install per previous messages.
