Can't install printer driver for new PIXMA TR7020a

I just received a new Canon TR7020a printer from Amazon. When I try to install the drivers I get the following message.

"failed to acquire information on the driver and software. Check the network connection and try again."

I run as administrator but it doesn't help. I've restarted my computer. Still no good. I have Googled the issue and have found others with this issue, but none that have solved it satisfactorily. Any ideas? I really hate to go through the hassle of packaging this thing back up and sending it back to Amazon.

Please make sure you are trying to install the TR7000 series Driver setup package from HERE. 

If this is happening with the driver setup file, I recommend you reach out to Canon support. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.
