The computer and the scan function do not connect with each other. I can print but not scan. Not sure what to do?

Hi AP_Canon_MF4770.
Are you scanning using [Computer] or [Remote Scanner]? Also, is the MF Toolbox already open when you attempt to scan your document?
I look forward to your reply. Should you need immediate assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

Thanks for your repsonse.
I am using remote scanner as prescibed above.
I have tried with the MF toolbox already open and also opening MF toolbox after setting the MF4770n in "SCAN-remote scanner" mode.

I had similar issues - what i did was install Scan Gear - once doing that - I went to the printer itself and clicked "Scan->Pc1" and followed the prompts - once it found my computer - I opened scan gear and then hit scan - and then it worked. Unfortunately I don't think the computer can talk with the printer when you want to scan - and will have to manually hit the but scan on the computer (or scan->Pc1) for it to work. After a few times - now when I just hit the scan button it recognizes that it is the computer I am connected to.
Hope this helps
