Unable to connect EOS 5D Mark IV to Camera Connect app

Hi,

I am struggling connecting my 5d mk4 to my iPhone.    Previously it connected perfectly but since the app has upgraded I have to register the camera within the app.

I can connect the phone to the camera’s WiFi but the app won’t get past the registration stage.   It’s driving me round the bend, I have tried resetting the cameras settings and nickname but this didn’t help   I have also restarted my phone and deleted the app and re downloaded it.

Hello likes2paint,

If the camera is already registered in the app, let's try deleting it and letting the app re-register the unit. You can delete the currently registered camera by touching the 3 horizontal bars in the top right corner. There is a section called [Camera registration]. Touch [Checking and deleting registered cameras]. Touch the [X] to delete your camera and then try again.

Hello Fleck,

I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue during your WIFI connection to your smartphone.

I would suggest resetting the WIFI settings on the camera to defaults and re-establishing the connection from scratch to start. You can find the reset in the yellow wrench menu #4 under [Communication settings] > [Built-in wireless settings]. I have attached a link to the WIFI Function manual HERE for your reference.

I am having the same issue.

I have done all these things, but the Camera Connect app wants me to register my camera. I have already registered my camera and when I try to do it again it doesn't get past the page that asked me to reconnect and re-register my camera.

4 users posting to a solved topic.  Different cameras, different phones.

For support to be effective, it would be helpful for each of you to start your own post so the specifics about your problem or issue can be addressed.

Based on what I have read, it's 4 users with different cameras/phones and one unified issue (which still seems unresolved). I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Canon 5D Mark IV.  I have not been able to connect my camera to my iPhone since 2023 for exactly the same reasons as those who've written before me have discussed.  I have deleted and reinstalled the Camera Connect app at least 10 times.  I have updated my Canon firmware.  As StevenLe indicated above, I get verification of the in-camera wi-fi connection but when I go through the process, it takes me right back to the "Register Your Camera" setting.  I've been a Canon user since the old AE-1 days through all of the Rebel series too but this is absurd!

Ok, let me provide a proper fix.  First of all, folks will have to go to their Menu setting, go to Communications Settings and then the Wireless Settings.  Go to the bottom of your screen and hit the "Clear Settings" option.  Once that is done, you'll have to go through the initial connection process as you did the first time you loaded this app. I called the Product Support Team at 1 800 652-2666 and they walked me through the process in 3 minutes.
