I got caught with my pants down (so to speak) at a basketball game I was shooting last night. Shooting in raw mode and had set style to monochrome to take photos of the officials (a tradition). While in monochrome mode got a great action shot on the floor as well, but being monochrome I can't use it, Can I use the DPP software to convert the style of the image from monochrome to color (my typical User Defined 1 mode). I see the photo as a CR2 in color (as expected), but I can't figure out how to retain the color when exporting tor JPG when the style is set to Monochrome in the image settings.

In DPP, just change the Picture Style from Monochrome to another style of your choice. That should do it 🙂

4.19.30 should be the latest. But features may look differently depending on the camera or CR2 version.

" I see the photo as a CR2 in color (as expected)" Where are you seeing the photo as color? If it is displaying as color it will "Convert and save" as a color JPEG.

When viewing the CR2s directly in my quick image viewer (sorry I should have specified that... I use One Photo Viewer for quickly running thru my images and knocking out things I slightly missed on targeting and such). In there everything appears as color when shooting raw.the only time you see the CR2 as monochrome is after it is exported to JPEG. Which from my reading is 100% normal and common across a wide variety of image processors. In DPP the CR2s DO display as grayscale or color as they were shot.
Using FloridaDrafters style change from the Edit Image screen I was able to get this done. Never had to do that before, wasn't sure where it would be (but knew it had to be there somewhere).
