EOS VR Utility bug after updating to macOS 15.2

After updating my Mac Studio to OS 15.2, the VR Utility Application is no longer working correctly.

When I go to export footage from RAW to ProRes, it stalls out at the 5-min left mark, and never finishes.

Can’t process my VR footage now. Can someone from Canon take a look & release an update?

Indeed, Canon is obligated to address this issue, which is a relatively straightforward problem with their paid subscription software. The software primarily involves calculations and file read/write operations, with a focus on the write side. I have provided a detailed log/stack trace of the failure. Notably, it does not significantly interfere with the operating system. Have you taken the time to thoroughly examine the problem?

Until they fix the bug the only solution is to roll back to Sonoma. Just backup before doing it.

Yea, I am not going to do that.  This should be working with the latest OS.  Sequoia was released over 4 months ago.

They do not seem to care so it could be awhile.

This guy has several tutorials on how to do it without the EOS app. In fact he seems to be the only resource for information about 3D VR

I'm having the same issue on 15.2 on my M4 Max MacBook Pro. I tried downloading Version 1.5.10 and had the same issue there too. ProRes exports will always freeze/stall before finishing.

Will this be fixed relatively soon?

I've just logged a support call to have the issue escalated to the product team.

thanks 🙏

I have an active ticket (at least). The dev team seems to have been notified...

Our team is actively working on the issue of the VR Utility and this has been reported to Canon Japan.

I'm one of those that has just purchased a new Canon R5 Mark ii with the dual fisheye lens and of course can't use the equipment with the latest version of MacOS. Canon, please fix this, because of the other applications I am utilizing, it is not feasible to install Sonoma unfortunately. This is a real disappointment.

I did determine that you can export about 5 seconds worth of footage in ProRes format. I'm using ProRes 4444 in particular and at least for extremely short clips of RAW 8k, things are working. I hadn't seen this mentioned on the thread anyplace so I thought I would mention I found this workaround. I'm running a M3 Max laptop with Sequoia 15.2 and the EOS VR 1.5.11. Set your in and out markers to less than 5 seconds and you can at least get a very short segment exported. Can't imagine this being very helpful in a serious workflow but at least to get the footage exported to get a glimpse of it, I found this works and wanted to pass along.

Please please please fix this soon.

Thanks
