Does any of you tried to download EOS Utility for the last updated software in MAC? Still not available for me.
Solved! Go to Solution.

I’m using an M1 Mac Studio Max which is now running the latest update of Sequoia and connecting to a Canon EOS Rebel SL2 OR 200D in the rest of the world.
The key to my issue was that I needed to uninstall all previous versions of the Canon EOS Utility from my computer. That’s because one of them was running in the background and wouldn’t allow me to use the upgraded utility. Once I uninstalled the old versions I again downloaded the update and then restarted my computer. That turned out to be the sequence of events that was necessary for the upgrade to work correctly. Everything worked! I’m now up and running.
I have no idea what your issue is as long as the Canon camera you’re using is on in the list of supported Canon cameras but will add, make sure to follow my sequence and don’t deviate from it.

What version of operating system do you have? And what version of eos utility?

Greetings,
Please understand there are multiple releases going on simultaneously. Canon released the R5 mkII, and the R1 just started shipping 6 days ago.
Apple released Sequoia 15.1 about 3 weeks ago. EOS Utility v3.18.5 added support for the R5mkII. V3.18.11 is out, on international sites, but I haven't checked the release notes yet. I expect another release that will officially add support for the R1.
Please be patient. The software has to be thoroughly tested before it can be certified. Apple constantly makes changes to releases right up to the day before it's made available to the public. Canon has to perform it's own testing before their software can be released as well.
Please continue to watch the support portal for your device. I'm sure new releases of the EOS utility are in the works.

Hello Rick,
Apple has been sending out Beta versions of Mac OS Sequoia for months, ever since their WWDC event on June 10, 2024. This happens every year so they certainly weren’t taken by surprise. We’re now into December and still no update that seems to work consistently. In my case, for example, what I did last week and reported on here has been marked as the “Solution” when I’ve clearly stated that when I subsequently made some adjustments in my camera (I changed the frame rate and maybe something else) it suddenly stopped working again. Fortunately for now I have another app that will download the files on the card to my Mac but to be able to see my camera in an external monitor attached to it I have to unplug the connection to the computer. Having a fully functional app would certainly be much better.
You state we Canon owners need to be patient. It’s now been seven months for Canon to fix the bugs in their app and make it available to us. At this rate by the time the update is made Apple will have released a new version of Mac OS.

I had this problem and was pulling my hair out. After multiple attempts trying everything recommended on multiple forums, this is what I did to get it to work. It's kind of a pain, but in the end, it worked perfectly. There is something in my OS/Desktop (Sequoia 15.1) which is not getting along with the UniversalInstaller. Like many, I got the "this is a downloaded file, which asked me to click "open". Then I would get "UniversalInstaller quit unexpectedly" and it offered to "reopen" which resulted in 2 instances of "The file can't be found". Clicked ok for those and done. Nothing installed. Here is what I did:
I went to users and groups, added a new user and gave the user admin rights. Then I restarted. I logged in as the new user, downloaded this install package:
EU-Installset-M3.18.5.13
And clicked on it. It installed without a hitch. Then my worry was that I would not have access to it under my normal login. But I could see it in Applications and after logging in to my normal login, there it still was under Applications. I clicked the EOS utility and up it popped and told me to connect a camera.
Now I need to get DPP and I'm all set. Kind of a hassle, but it works.

Hello 1strail,
Are you able to do "Liveview shot" in EOS Utility 3.18.5.13 with OS Sequoia 15.1.1?
Thank you in advance
