It was happening on both my 5D and my one DX. This is before even connecting any camera for me. It was a software issue and by creating another user, the software loaded as expected that is how I solve my problem.

What worked for me was to create a new user in the user and groups section of system settings. Give the new user admin rights and reboot. Log in as the new user (if you don't get the choice once you computer is fully booted, log out and log back in...
