DPP not seeing jpg or cr2 photos

I just bought a used PowerShot S120. Everything works great on it! So, I downloaded and installed DPP. I attached my S120 to my Windows 10 laptop using the USB to Mini USB cord. Then open the location/folder to the my S120. DPP doesn't see anything! Not cr2. Not even jpg! However, explorer opens them so I know they are readable...I really don't want to need to download Gimp...HELP!!

TIA!

Ok, so I took the SD Card out of the camera and used a SD Card reader. I opened DPP4 and went to the SD Card location. DPP4 sees all the files! I had been attaching my s120 to the computer via a cable to read the SD Card. It works much better using an SD Card reader!

Correct. They mirror each other. At one point you needed to mouse to your Pictures folder and open it, and maybe also a subfolder inside Pictures. Then select the image and right-click.

You can use the folder list in DPP to find the Pictures folder, the subfolder if there is one, and then select the image. Instead of right-clicking and choosing DPP4 you just double-click the image.

If you store all your images in the Pictures folder you can configure DPP4 to always open that folder:
