DPP can't process RAW images from Canon R6

Semi-funky

I am familiarizing myself with Canon EOS R6 purchased used. Took some "RAW" photos which according to DPP 4.10.20.1 have "CRAW" filename extensions. When I try to open one of these files in DPP 4, It says that CRAW files are not compatible with the R6 and it won't process them.

The EOS R6 creates files with the extension .CR3 when it is set to shoot in RAW.

Also check the version of DPP, as I have 4.20.20 on my Mac. You may need to do a fresh download of the DPP software from the Canon website to be sure to get the latest version.

Is that a typo?  The latest version of DPP is version 4.20.10.

What Operating System are using?  The DPP 4.10 versions are at least a decade old at this point.

I don’t know what you are saying.  I asked the OP for clarification on the version number.

Semi-funky,

Here are some instructions for setting your R6 to the proper RAW format:

https://drewcaptures.com/how-to-set-canon-r6-to-raw/

In the interim, you can go online and do RAW file format conversions. Some allow for batch conversions like this site for example:

I installed DPP version 4.20.10 for PC which will at least open the .CR3 files now. I did not have time to try further processing at that time. Now it seems to be working although very slowly. Thanks for all the replies.
