Convert CR3 to jpg in Android?

Does anyone know of a free app for converting CR3 RAW files to jpg for use on an Android device?

I know there are free sites that will do that, but I'd prefer not to hand off my photos to a third party if I don' have to.

I can't recall which camera you have Steve, but some of the EOS cameras allow you to convert a RAW to JPG using the camera playback menu. On my EOS R10 for example the second blue Playback menu shows RAW image processing, this will convert the camera captured RAW to a JPG and see it on the card. This does allow you to use the settings active at the time the photo was taken or change some of them. Then you can save as a new JPG image to transfer to your Android phone.

Brian,

Thanks for the heads up. I have a T8i, and yes, I can convert a Raw file to a jpg in camera by applying, in Playback, a handful of what Canon calls "Creative Assists" (brightness, contrast, white balance, etc) or a number of what they call Presets (pre-ordained or pre-determined 😃). Kind of like Recipes. I can then save that new image as a jpg.

I can then download the jpg using my Camera Connect and Control software to my tablet and either email that photo off or share it on Social Media like this Forum without the need to wait until I get back home to my computer.

Thank you for your help.

Brian,

Thanks to your guidance, I was able to accomplish this.

I converted this in Camera, resized it as much as I could, downloaded it to my tablet, and uploaded it here, all "from the field".  I took this the other night and deliberately underexposed it by a couple of stops. f/7.1, 1/60, ISO 160.
