Canon EOS utility does not work with my Mac Ventura 13.3.3.1

.....While Apple photos works great 

Tried  using EOS Utility 2 and 3

I'm don't know that makes a difference. Are all the permissions as shown in the link I posted?

I just tried with my wife's camera, which has never been connected to the MacBook before.

When I connected and powered camera on this appeared:

When I selected Allow the window closed.

Then I selected EOS Utility and EOSU3 started up:

When I then tried connecting my 1D X Mark III, which had been connected before (but before he latest macOS update) I got the same authorization request.

EOSU3 will start, but I get the beachball. Looks like something broke.

Update - it just took a while. EOSU3 does see my camera. I think the delay was reading my cards:
