XA10 Professional camcorder

There's something not working when I turn on the camcorder. The green light comes on, but alongside it is the pause icon. It means I can't record. It's either paused or off. Thank you in advance for your help!

Icon now showing up on desktop

I've tried both USB ports, I've tried turning it off, and turning it on. However, the icon stopped showing up on MacBook desktop. Thank you in advance.

When I plug my XA 10 into my Mac to download a film clip, not only does it not open iPhoto automatically as it's supposed to, the camcorder icon doesn't appear on my screen or as a new device. I unplugged it and tried a different USB port, but nothin...

Audio on XA10 playback

I just did a short clip to test my XA10 before doing an interterview this week and even tho I could see the bars going up and down on the screen while I was speaking, there's no sound on playback. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
