I made a battery grip for the R5C using the canon BP-A 30 batteries. Now I have 8k 60p no limitations, and battery anxiety is also nonexistent now 😂. Also getting about 2 1/2 hours of use. Thought I would share this because if I can make this you can too. Also canon can make this too. Canon or whoever please steal this idea make it better.
made of; NEWEER battery grip, 12v to 9v converter, canon DR-E6C converter, AND Dolgen BPA engineering battery plate.
I had to create a metal piece to connect the battery grip to the battery plate, and I had to solder it in two different places. I also use a tripod plate/shoe to add more pressure to keep it in place.
I have use this on my professional shoots to great success. I bought a second camera R5C and made a second battery grip for my two camera shoots.
The only other thing that’s on my wish list for this camera is shooting in a 8K 60P in the HEVC format

That firmware now allows the camera to be used without restriction in 8k 60p raw mode with the new LPE6P batteries. So I get about 135min of battery time in the made with 2 batteries in a grip. Enjoy!

Yes, I've already spotted, that Accsoon now has a BP-A mounting plate, which is of better quality than the one you used.
As for the LP-E6P firmware update, yes, that solves some of the issues, but it's unsure, if you get the benefit of 8k60 recording with autofocus, as I'm not sure, that the LP-E6P batteries will give you that benefit with the BG-R10 grip and the Canon R5 C is the only older camera, that has not been listed as compatible with the BG-R20.
I contacted Canon support about this and they are currently looking into that.
The Canon R5 C for example also does not work with the Canon DR-E6P dummy. It shuts down instantly, if you try to use that.
On an interesting side node: The WFT-R10 file transfer grip works with the LP-E6P and gives the R5 C all the new LP-E6P benefits. I've already done extensive testing. Issue being, that the second battery obviously only powers the wifi portion.

Actually firmware 1.0.9.1 also added support for the BG-R20 and BG-R20EP to the R5 C. It's even in the updated manual.

I am aware. I already did a full load test with my WFT-R10.
The next issue is, that there's only a cage for the BG-R10 and the R5 C, but Canon also told me, that the LP-E6P batteries can be used in the BG-R10, too.
I'm just hoping, that 8k60 also will work in that one. Have one en route now.
