Speedlite EL-10 not syncing with Speedlite Transmitter ST-E10

I have a Canon R8 and Speedlite EL-10.  Just purchased a Speedlite Transmitter ST-E10 and followed all the instructions to sync them, many times.  But they are not syncing.  Not sure what the issue is.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the same transmitter and used it successfully on my EOS R6 Mark II and EOS R10 with multiple Speedlite 600EX-RT, 430EX III-RT, EL-5 and EL-10.

I would try the following to get them setup and working.

• Check the firmware version of the transmitter, latest is version 1.2.0, upgrade if necessary.
• Set the ST-E10 to channel 1 and set the ID to a four digit number that is not 0000 - do this from the camera menu for external flash settings
• Set the EL-10 to receiver mode using the buttons on the flash
• Set the EL-10 to channel 1 and the same ID as you have set for the transmitter

At this point the Green LINK light should illuminate on both ST-E10 and EL-10.
