Today I went to the British round of the World Sidecar Cross & European Quad Cross Championships.
I took along an EOS R1 and my well used EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens
Also had some fun with the panning shots too.
Now to remove a fine layer of dust from the camera and lenses

Great pictures and congrats on the R1. I can't afford an R1--well I can, but it would impact other things--and I don't need an R1, but what a magnificent camera!! Enjoy it as it appears you do.

The EOS R1 is on loan to me for a couple of weeks so I thought it would be good to give it a bit of a test. I had to slow down the drive speed to avoid shooting “way too many” photos at this race

Thank you. Some of the panned photos used a shutter speed as slow as 1/60th. The last picture the rider is braking for a sharp bend and locked the rear wheel so there’s a nice disparity between the frozen rear and moving front and side wheels.

You're fortunate then to have the opportunity to experience it. Enjoy it well.

Thank you Rick. It was a great day out and the racing was so good too, as well as being spectacular to photograph
