CanoScan LiDE 220 - How to clear memory of scan and fax data

Baltus

In preparing to recycle my CanoScan LiDE 220 scanner, I want to clear any residual scan and/or fax data from its memory. However, I am unable to find instructions on how to do so for this particular device. As far as I can tell, neither the owner's manual nor the IJ scanner software addresses doing a factory reset or other memory-clearing procedure. I would appreciate receiving guidance from a product expert on this matter. Thank you.

Hi,

The LIDE 220 does not save any of your scans on the scanner itself. It does not have a hard drive and only has volatile memory that clears when it's unplugged.

Perfect! Thank you!! That's exactly the information I was seeking.

Hi,

Is the same true for CanoScan LiDE 300 and 400 models?

Arthur,

Does the Canoscan 9000f save scans or is it like the above-referenced scanner in that it does not have a hard drive and therefore clears when it is unplugged?

HI MaryB1,

The CanoScan 9000F does not have a memory in which previous scans are saved.  There is nothing to clear when the scanner is unplugged, as the scanner is not capable of retaining that information.
