CanoScan 9000F Mark II scanner buttons no longer work

August 2025 - I have a 9000f mkii scanner that I love, had forever, maybe a dozen years.  Hooked up to the same computer, same operating system, and all of a sudden the buttons on the scanner don't work.  I can still scan from the Canon Utility or Image Garden, but not from the scanner.  Unfortunately, the scanner buttons are the only way to scan multiple pages into one document.  What's up?  Please don't respond with other ways to scan multiple pages.  I already completed the job on another scanner.  I want my buttons to work!  Was there a Windows update that caused this?

And just like that my scanner made a liar out of me.  Maybe it took 15 minutes for it to kick in, because after I wrote that reply I pressed all the buttons again (who can resist pushing buttons) and it works!  Thanks!

Hi,

In case this was caused by a Windows update, please disconnect the scanner usb cord and then delete the scanner from your computer.

After the scanner is removed, please click the link below and select software and drivers. Reinstall the driver and software and then reconnect the scanner and try to scan via the buttons.

Thanks for the reply.  I had tried that already once, but didn't reboot my PC then so this time I did.  Nada.  I wish there was somebody at Canon I could talk to because this should be an easy fix for somebody who knows how the drivers are written.
