Canoscan LIDE 110 stopped responding

I've had this Canoscan LIDE110 for a long time and it's always been very reliable, up 'til very recently.  It has stopped lighting up.  It still connected to my computer, and the driver software sees it, but when I hit the "scan" button, the scanner head doesn't light up, and there's no sound or motion.  Then there's an error, but no code or message. Just "Scanner not responding."

Any ideas of troubleshooting I could try?
