I'm trying to figure a way to get a "live view" of reversed color negatives for quick sorting prior to precision scanning.
I hate having to load the strip then scan (I have a Canoscan 9000F2 & PrimeFilm7200) when I know I'm only going to choose 1-2 per roll, so I'm moving to make camera-based "scanner" using an R5ii & RF100macro. I intend to modify the film feed so I can just take a strip, & pull it through the film gate without having to pre-load each strip into a carrier, to save a lot of time, but I would like to have a live but reversed (positive) view of each frame in real time. Instant but large "contact prints", so to speak!
I can't see a way to do this in EOSU or DPP, & the plug-ins for LR appear to only work on raw images. You can do reversal in DaVinci Studio too, but again that is not real-time. So is anyone aware of any software which will do this, maybe by creating a profile for the basic negative conversion in some 3rd party camera live view software?
Thanks! JH

The problem is the orange mask.
Vuescan will do it, you might just use a flatbed and create a "contact strip".
