with XF605 (latest firmware 1.0.5.1) using SanDisk Extreme Pro 170MB/s SDXC V30 I U3 10 Cards
I am able to record with the following settings: MP4(H.264) YCC420 8bit, 3840x2160, 23.98P... which has a bit rate listed as 150Mbps. No memory card message when selecting and works without a problem.
I do, however, get the "memory card not compatible with recording settings" notice with the following settings: XF-AFC YCC422 10bit, 3840x2160 Long GOP, 23.98P... which has a bit rate listed at 160Mbps. OK, this is a little bit higher than the 150Mbps that works, so maybe just over the limit for the V30 card?
But I also get the same message with these settings: MP4(HEVC) YCC422 10bit, 3840x2160, 23.98P... which has a bit rate listed at only 135Mbps. This should not be giving me the "memory card not compatible with recording settings" notice, should it? and really should work with the SD cards above?
Thanks in advance for any insights and guidance!

Hello TomMN,
While you are able to use the V30 speed class cards in some very limited capacities, it really is suggested to use at least V60 or better yet V90 speed class cards for full compatibility.

Thanks John, I have ordered some faster cards so that I won't be limited in the future. I still don't understand, however, why my existing cards wouldn't have been acceptable for options that are lower in bit rate than what I have successfully used in the past without receiving the compatibility notice.

TomMN,
Sounds like SanDisk marketing fluff. "Up to" 170mb is read, not write.
You have to read the fine print. This is specific to their v30 cards.
[256GB-1TB] Up to 200MB/s read speeds, engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, require compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds. Write speed up to 140MB/s. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device, interface, usage conditions and other factors. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes. X = 150KB/sec. [64-128GB] Up to 200MB/s read speed. Write speed up to 90MB/s. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes. X = 150KB/sec. [32GB] Up to 100MB/s read speed. Write speed up to 90MB/s. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes. X = 150KB/sec.
John_Q provided excellent advice.

Thanks for the reply; I do understand what you are saying. The question/issue though, relates to the message I am receiving not making much logical sense: i.e. how can any card (SanDisk or other) not be compatible with writing at 135 Mbps, when the camera considers it compatible and has been able to write successfully at 150 Mbps???
