I have an older Vixia HF M30 and decided to start using a real camcorder again instead of just my iPhone. I've bought a new battery and it works fine. Now I'm trying to put on an external microphone to record better audio. I tried the Canon DM-E100 (didn't fit!) and just received a DM-100. Fits fine, but this one has no external cord to plug into the jack on the camera. Will this one work? I don't see anywhere in any of the menus that show an external microphone attached. Thanks!
