How to print using only black ink on a Mac? Impossible?

The same problem occurs to my "Canon Pixma 9500" printer.

Usually, I print in greyscale, and quite regularly I print photos.

I don't want to spend my colour cartridges for greyscale print. Though, I cannot avoid it.

Is it possible to make the "Print in Black and White" checkbox actually work with black colour instead of emulating it with all the colours???

This is insane!

Some of our printers have the option for black ink only. It would depend on the printer that is used and the operating system on the computer. 1. Are you using a canon Pro-9500 or is this a TR9520/9521?
