Pro 1 printing B&W with a sepia tint

Photomanray

I desperately need help and I am at my wit's end.  I have a Canon Pro 1 printer and recently all B&W prints have come out with a sepia tint.  I have installed the latest driver from the Canon website, (16.40.1.0) as well as the latest firmware, (ver 2.100).  I have deleted the printer and re-installed it.  I have tried different papers using the correct icc profiles and nothing has worked.  Please, please is there a genius out there who knows how I can get back to the beautiful B&W prints I was getting.

Run a nozzle check and be sure that all the inks are printing.

When you added the printer did you add the IJ Series version of the printer (which you want) or the AirPrint version (which you don't want)?

What software are you printing from?

Are you using the same paper as before when you got the prints you were happy with?

Hi John
Thank you for your reply.  The nozzle check appears to be perfect.  I usually print from PS 2021 but I have also tried using Canon's Print Studio Pro neither have produced a B&W print.  When I have printed in the past I was amazed at the quality of the B&W prints.  I have tried different papers using dedicated icc profiles and the print settings are the same as the ones I have always used.  When I have deleted and re-installed the printer there is no choice of IJ or Airprint.  The printer is connected via a USB cable.  I don't normally print B&W so I'm not sure when I last had pure B&W prints.

When you selected "+" to add the printer you should wait until you see the IJ Series version appear. It will usually take a few minutes.

Download and print the test image from this site. Just open it in your software and print. Do not make any adjustments. How does it look?

When I select '+' to add the printer the only option in the add box is Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series and 'kind' is USB.  I have left the 'Add' box open for half an hour with no option for IJ or AirPrint.

Maybe since you don’t have Wifi enabled the AirPrint option won’t show.

I think the IJ option is only for windows.  I am using a Mac.  I'm going to try printing from a windows laptop.

IJ Series is definitely Mac, but I connect via WiFi to my Mac.

If you have USB to Mac try the test print.
