Canon Imageprograf Pro-1000 not responding after moving USB cable for minute

Jaana

I have a problem with my Canon Imageprograf Pro-1000. It's a new printer and it doesn't anymore connect via usb. It did earlier, but when I took the cable out and reconnected, it shows that it can't get a connection from windows. Windows does not recognize the device.

Have tried putting the USB in another place but it doesnt work.

I have done several restarts on the printer. I have restarted the computer several times. All drivers are updated. I have replaced the USB cable with a new one. I have made all the USB updates to the computer that I have found in the tutorials. After so many restarts, the printer's ink is almost empty.

There is still a warning sign in Device Manager “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed.“

I've been working on it for a few days now, but unfortunately I can't fix it. For a week when the printer was working, the prints were very beautiful.

Please can anyone help who has had the same problem.

Hi Jaana,

Are you still experiencing this issue?

If so, have you considered using your PRO-1000 wirelessly?

Under the device manager, have you tried right clicking on the device and uninstalling it all together then unplugging?

If you do this, I highly recommend deleting the printer and running the Canon installer again as well to kind of give things a clean redo. As a reminder do not plug the device back in until you are told to by the installer. USB devices can get a bit "cart before the horse". The installer will pre-stage everything for Windows so when you plug it in, all is well.

Good luck!
