Every time I clean the scanner glass (with 99% isopropyl and microfiber towel) I get worse lines in my scans. Is there something else that needs cleaning that could cause this?

Me too! No matter how much I wipe it with 99% the lines are horrible. I have to use Photoshop to edit/erase out the streaks. Sometimes they are impossible to remove from important parts of the scan. This would be a great scanner if it did not have this problem and no one seems to want to help. Let me know if you find a solution. I'm considering removing the strip and cleaning it externally; however, I'm a bit scared to attempt it.

Alcohol is the right stuff. With these scanners though, clean not only the glass but the white backer that match up on the other half along with the infeed rollers. I have seen it happen where you clean the glass and the mark is getting tracked back on by the document pushing stuff back on as it feeds. Also, eyeglass cleaner wipes can do a slightly better job as it will not evaporate as quick as isopropyl will.
