imageCLASS MF642Cdw: unable to print wirelessly, iMac can't find printer

Hi, 

I have an iMac and I set up the printer wirelessly. Every couple weeks I have an issue where my computer can't find the printer. I then have to go into System Preferences erase the printer and add the printer back. Why am i have this issue?

Based on your description, I suspect you're using wireless for your connection method? 

If this is happening occasionally, it's likely your router is reclaiming the IP address it's assigned to the device.  After a period of inactivity or no use the router deems the device Is no longer present and reclaims its IP.  

To resolve, assign the printer a static IP on the network.  This is done on your router.  Once complete, remove the device from your Mac using the minus key as you've done previously and this time reinstall it as an IP printer.  It only has to be done once.
