imageCLASS MF247dw - Scanner driver not installed

I am trying to install Canon MF Scan Utility on a new laptop. I get the error message that "A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed. Install it and try again." I had already attempted to install the driver package ([Windows 64bit] MF249dw/MF247dw/MF244dw MFDrivers (UFR II / PCL / FAX / ScanGear), but after attempted installation I get an error message saying "This setup program is not for 64-bit windows."

Greetings ,

Thank you for confirming.  This is what I suspected based on the error message.

Please install the windows scan app.  See if it will allow you to use the scanner under Windows 11 ARM.  Appreciate it if you would post your results.

All software and drivers are here, including the Windows 64 bit scan utility program. I don't know what operating system you are using, if not Windows 11 choose which one you have on the right side of the pane, if it does not auto detect what it is. You may need to uninstall your printer/scanner and start again. If using a usb/printer cable don't connect it until prompted to do so.

Greetings @cribeyre,

Please tell us more about your operating system and hardware.  Windows 11, and is your system based on Intel, AMD or Snapdragon architecture?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Windows 11 OS, Snapdragon. A ChatGPT search last night after posting this question here gave me the info that my new laptop having an ARM processor makes it incompatible with the Canon driver for the scanner. Doesn't seem like there is currently a work around? There are no issues with printing from my laptop to the same printer/scanner.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using a Windows 11 OS. I used the recommended 64 bit driver package download.  I'm seeing info that the ARM processor on my new laptop isn't compatible with the Canon Scan Driver for my printer/scanner, and I'm not seeing that any workarounds exist.
