PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II driver needed for macOS Sonoma

terryb59

I have a new computer and I cannot find any drivers for this older printer.  I am running Sonoma 14.4 on my Mac and the printer is a Pixma pro 9000 mark II.

Are there any other drivers that will work, or is this printer going in the trash?  I bought years ago and used it only a couple times.  So frustrated with Canon's support.

Welcome to the forum!

The PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, however your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions.
You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help locate a replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Rather pathetic that Canon refuses to roll out an updated driver for windows 11. It’s a cash grab to force customers into purchasing a new printer. Fortunately, there are great printers out there other than Canon. I won’t be rewarding Canon’s cash grab with a new purchase. Everyone else should do the same.

Are you listing other Canon products they’ve decided to stop supporting?

Very sad isn’t it? Rather than update the driver for win 11, Canon would rather force loyal customers into new purchases. I won’t be rewarding this cash grab, I’ll be looking for a different brand of printer when this driver issue gets to annoying to deal with.

The Pro-9000 Mk II was released in 2011. Even so there were drivers up through W10. Did you try the W10 driver? Many will work with W11.

I’m using a win10 driver, buggy as all hell, I will either run the pro 9000 m2 on an older win10 computer, or upgrade my printer to Epson, etc.
