PIXMA MX490 doesn't detect my Wi-Fi

Hi ! I have a Canon PIXMA MX490 and I can't connect it to my WiFi anymore. I've had this printer since around 2018.

I hadn't used it for a few months and I tried to print something and it didn't work. I tried to remove my printer from my laptop and adding it back but now I can't connect it to my laptop again. Using the WPS button gives me a timeout error and my network doesn't appear in the list if I try to connect manually (but it detects my neighbors' WiFi). My WiFi works fine on all of my other devices. I've tried restarting my printer, my laptop and my WiFi.

Thank you

Steps to Manually Connect Canon PIXMA MX490 to Wi-Fi

  • Have your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password ready.

Connection Process

  2. Select Wireless LAN Setup

    • Use the arrow keys to navigate to "Setup" and select "Wireless LAN setup."
  3. Choose Manual Setup

    • Select "Other Methods" and then choose "Manual Setup."
  4. Select Your Network
