PIXMA G2000 How to connect to a server

JarheadBiker

Good morning,

I have a client who purchased a Canon PIXMA G2000(zero consultation from me) they intend to use as a central scanner for their survey team. I need to install it on their server(completely different floor of the building) and share it out, but I can't find any information on installing it as a networked device(ethernet cabled, static ip). I can't install the IJ software because it wants the scanner to be plugged in to the server via usb cable. Is networking the scanner even a possibility?

Good Morning,

The G2000 does not appear to be a product intended for sale in the US.  This model was released about 10 years ago   It only has USB connectivity.  I would suggest revisiting this purchase decision with management as it will not be ideal for business use.  This printer is really intended for an individual.

It has a network port on it.

I'm just going by the products manual / documentation

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G2000%20series/EN/BG/bg-beforeuse3000.html

Interface shows USB 2.0.

There is no mention of Ethernet.
