Hi Greg! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you are unable to access the printer’s website for your Canon PIXMA G6020 on your Mac computer.
Before you can access that web page, both your printer and computer need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To check the printer’s network connection, you can print the LAN details on regular copy paper. You can follow the instructions in the following link to print out that information:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/NTR/ntr_n_01_04.html
For an illustration that shows the printer’s buttons, please use this link:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/UG/ug-160.html
When the page finishes printing, please look for the following lines (the line numbers will be on the left side of the page):
3-2-1 Signal Strength
3-2-2 Link Quality
3-2-6 SSID
3-2-12 IP Address
We recommend placing the printer where the Signal Strength and Link Quality are above 70 percent. The SSID in line 3-2-6 should be the name of your Wi-Fi signal. Please make sure that your computer is connected to the same exact signal. The IP Address in line 3-2-12 should start with one of these numbers: 10, 172, or 192. As long as all of this checks out, the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi, and you should be able to access the printer’s website.
If the printer is not connected to your Wi-Fi, you can follow the instructions in the following article to connect your printer to that network:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART174794
When it comes time to enter your Wi-Fi password, please refer to the information in the following link:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/UG/ug-166.html
After the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi, please print out the network information again to make sure that the Signal Strength and Link Quality are above 70 percent. Also, please make sure that the IP Address starts with either a 10, 172, or 192.
Once you are certain that the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi, please try opening the printer’s web page again. If you are still getting an error, please go to the browser’s settings to delete the cookies and clear the cache. After you delete the cookies and cache, please click go back to the web page that shows the error and click on the Refresh button (or you can try reopening the printer’s web page.
If that is still not working, please click on the address bar of the web browser window and type the printer’s IP Address (the one you see in line 3-2-12). Please enter just the numbers and dots (no spaces). After you type the address, press the Enter number on your keyboard. After that, the printer’s web page should open.
If the page is still not opening on your computer, please open a web browser on a different device that is connected to your Wi-Fi. For example, you can go to a smartphone’s Wi-Fi settings window and make sure it is connected to the same network. Then, open a web browser on that device, tap on the address bar, and enter the printer’s IP Address (line 3-2-12).
If you can get the printer’s web page to open on a different device, then there is a security setting or program on your computer that is keeping that site from opening on your computer. If you cannot get the page to open on a different device, I recommend restarting the router. It that does not help, I recommend contacting your Internet provider (if they issued the router to you) or the router manufacturer (if you purchased the router).
If you need more assistance, please describe what you were able to find when following the information in this post.
I hope this information helps. Thanks for choosing Canon.
