Need a Mac driver for MAXIFY GX7120- I DO NOT want to use AirPrint driver

I have a MacBook and the Canon Maxify GX7120. The printer prints very dark, for example a regular royal blue is a very dark navy blue. I have researched and it seems to be because of the AirPrint driver, which is the only option I have. There is no driver available to download for a MAC since it automatically uses the AirPrint -but I do NOT want to use the AirPrint driver at all. There is no way to adjust colors with airprint. I use Mac and Sonoma. Any suggestions?

Canon you print a nozzle check? How does it compare to this:

What item are you printing that has the "incorrect" colors and what software are you printing from?

I have a printer that uses AirPrint (not the same as your model) and it prints correctly.

Greetings,

I looked into this yesterday also and didn't see anything offered for Sequoia that would allow changes to color saturation or tone. Granted I don't have any way of testing but I didn't see anything in the available applications to control this. Have you considered calling Canon Support?  1-800-652-2666

There is a photo printing and editing program available here on this site, not having a MAC, I don't know how much control you have over and image, or card color, saturation ect, If you download any of the programs make sure you choose the right version of Sonoma first.

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/megatank-gx7120,

This is a very good photo library program, has simple but effective editing and works with Mac or Windows and very well with my Canon IP8720 printer, my image prints match my monitors almost perfectly. . I have used it for years. It will auto import from a memory card if you want it to.

Your nozzle check pattern shows on gaps or skips but it is a bit different than what my IP6820 prints. It has three color bars for each color, two blacks, one for dye ink and one for pigment ink, and a gray print out. Each bar is a different shade or intensity. My MG3620 has two bars for the three colors, each a different intensity. Yours look to be the same. The manual for your printer has a nozzle check sample and it looks like the one you posted. I think this indicates your printer uses the correct amount of ink, if images print dark, it must be a setting causing that to happen. My MG3620 also prints a bit dark also, magenta has a bit too much blue in it. I used this test print.
