MF247dw Printer -- Can't Print with New Wifi NEED HELP

AdrianZ99

Hi,

I've just installed Verizon wifi having previously had Xfinity. I have managed to connect my phone, TV, and desktop to the new wifi. Then I tried to print something out and it just says "Looking for Printer." It's shown different color dots next to the printer icon while trying print, and also "offline" and "online." I guess since I can find the printer on my desktop that the two are connect?? But I have no idea how to connect the printer to the Wifi. I tried following the instructions to set up, but after hitting Menu on the printer screen, I don't get the correct options as per the instructions. It just says "Select Scan Type" and listed under that are "Computer" "Email" and "File." I click on "Computer" and I get the message "Connect the Computer" at the top of an otherwise empty box. As I said, I think it is connected. If I do select "Remove" on my computer -- to reinstall -- I'm not sure how to proceed from there. In the past I didn't know what info to fill in to reinstall the printer. I have tried shutting down the router, my computer and the printer. Can anyone help me get my printer set up on the new wifi? Thanks!

Greetings ,

You'll need to rerun the MF setup utility in order to configure your printer to connect to your new wireless router.  This will allow you to choose the new SSID and password for your new network.

Unfortunately the Canon support page has a couple of broken links including wifi video and the how to setup guide. This link will take you to the wifi setup for your printer from both the printer panel and connecting from your pc after downloading the setup software, which has a link in the guide:

Thank you to all who helped. I have everything working now. I just need to figure out how to delete this post

Hi, AdrianZ99!  We leave each conversation up in case someone else should come along with the same printer and the same issue.  They can read this thread and they can use the solution you found to solve their own problem.  Thanks for your contribution!
