My Mac OS computer isn't recognizing my Cannon TR8620 printer. I should add that are other Mac computer and iPads aren't recognizing the printer as well. I have had this printer for over a year and never had a problem. Yes I went into troubleshooting, all networks are working and connected, no error issues on the printer. My Cannon software drivers are up to date on my Mac. This should be an easy fix but it's not. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Try re-installing from scratch on your Mac by going here: canon.us/ijsetup
That should re-establish the WiFi connection to the printer. Note: The printer can't be connected by USB and use WiFi simultaneously.

I have the exact same issue. The printer had been working great, but all of a sudden, I could not connect it to my MacBook or my iPhone/iPad Pro anymore for a few weeks now. I tried a ton of troubleshooting, but nothing worked. I reset the printer and reinstalled the Canon software a number of times... Basically, the computer does not detect the printer at all... Then I tried a Windows laptop, and the printer immediately showed up there and worked just fine, so this tells me this is a Mac and/or IOS-related issue...
I googled this issue a number of ways but couldn't see any specific fix. Have you found a resolution? Hopefully, something more helpful than the copy/paste reply from Canon...

I am having the same problem. I called Cannon yesterday, and after several steps, they got it working. Then again this morning it is again not working. Just got off the phone with them after they got it working. I shut down my computer and went back in. Again, it is not working. Getting ready to call them. One more time.

This is a follow-up to my previous message above. I have been having the same problem intermittently. I worked with Canon three different times and each time they got it to work but when I would go back the next day, it would not work. During my last call, I was told that my 5G was the problem and was the structure to call my Internet provider And had my Internet split into two bands 2.4 and 5G. Then I called Cannon back and they reset me up. It worked fine for the last several days but now again this morning I can’t seem to get connected again. The printer doesn’t even show up on my Mac. I’m not sure what to do

Greetings,
This thread had been dormant and now has two new users asking for assistance. Its likely that both are using their device in different environments. Different operating system versions, different connections, and with different hardware.
If connecting via USB. Remove any old or stale instances of the printer from the Printers and Scanners Applet. Select and press (-) minus.
Disconnect the device from your MAC. Restart the Mac. Run the IJSetup Utility referenced above. Select USB.(connection type) Do not connect the printer until prompted to do so. If you are running later versions of MAC OS, you must allow the USB connection when prompted. Note, if you are using any USB/Cable adapter these can interfere with the computer's ability to detect the printer properly.
Wi-Fi Connections:
The printer has a 2.4Ghz radio. It can only connect to a 2.4 Ghz wireless broadcast, using WPA2 AES Encryption. If your router is dual band and using the same SSID name for both broadcasts 2.4 & 5G, it might cause detection issues.
Tips:
Temporarily disable the 5Ghz broadcast during printer installation. Re-enable once complete.
If the router is using WPA3 encryption, change to WPA3/WPA2 or WPA2 for backwards compatibility. WPA2 is very secure so don't worry. 😀
Try using unique names for each broadcast. mywifi2.4, mywifi5g1 (example).
Confirm your printer is actually connected to your router. Log into its admin portal and check your list of attached devices. If you don't see the printer, its not connected and your computer is not going to "see" it.
Its very difficult to support topics or issues where multiple people are posting but have different environments. If the above doesn't help, please consider starting a new topic. One that contains the specifics about your printer model, Operating System version and build, how its connected and to what. Any error messages you might have observed or steps we can use to reproduce your issue. This is the best way to get fast, concise assistance. 😀
