EDIT - See this thread. Several have reported a working fix.
Greetings,
Microsoft has released a patch which is said to address the scanning failures windows 11 users are experiencing after feature release 24H2 is applied. Many people have reported issues using ScanGear and the MF Scan Utility.
KB5048667 should download automatically from Windows Update. If you want to apply the patch manually, you can visit the Windows Update Catalog, download the run the patch yourself.
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5048667
After applying the update, restart your system and test scanning.
Please post your results for others.

Of course its an issue with 24H2 not being compatible with Canon current software version, but only the Canon folks have the capacity to debug it and see what exactly goes wrong. Tried a WinDbg tool but still nothing, seems to be failing at some security related DLL in syswow64 but Im not a developer/expert, Im a hardware guy.

Same Issues here after performing a fresh install on W11, updated the OS and then installed the new download of the drivers and scan utilities. Still having the same issues with scanner unable to communicate with the utility.

I was able to get windows to install the printer and scanner using control panel. As of right now I am able to scan using Windows Scan app. Just not using Canon MF Scanner utility.

Reading the last entry - without any more re-installs, i simply tried the MS Scan app (windows Store download) and that app works for both my Canon & Brother printer/scanners. A bit less function, but can scan again.
Still want Canon to get with it and fix their software!

I'm glad that worked for you... I had read about the scan app working on a different site I found while searching Google about this, and of course tried it, but that too failed. It said something along the lines of "You must install a scanner first". O'well. I'm content running 23H2 for the time being. However, I wish to hell Microsoft wouldn't screw with things that don't need it and/or do proper testing with devices that might be affected. It's not like they don't have the $ nor can they say that every single printer/scanner is the exact same throughout the entire company or at the various developers homes. T E S T T E S T T E S T!!!!!!!!!!!!
