My printer just decided it wont communicate with my computer, I get an error message, I assume this is a driver issue. I went to the canon site twice and downloaded a driver twice this took me to a Google log in, WHY? Then a site called Setapp that wanted to charge me a $10/mo. fee? what is up with that. Is canon partnering with scammers now? It's a driver, it's simple, this shouldn't be rocket science.
I am curious to know when the wheels fell off the truck and driver downloads became a scam? Perhaps Ill also get a functioning driver installed as well.

Hi,
The MX300 was retired in 2014 and the last Mac driver made was for OS X Mavericks 10.9. There are no printer or scanner drivers for the MX300 and BigSur operating system.
Since the printer is not compatible with your operating system, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.
If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please the Canon Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

Hi,
No Canon driver should take you to a Google log in. Please make sure you went to the following site: usa.canon.com
Also, depending on what operating system you are running, Canon may not have a driver for your printer since the MX300 was retired back in 2014.
Please let us know what version of Windows or Mac OS you are running and we can assist you further.
