MF232w Direct Connection Wifi doesn't seem to have WPS button

Alto
Apprentice

Hi Canon team,

I am using the mf232w through a direct connection. Windows registers it as such, and directs me to press the wps button on my printer. I do not see a soft or hard button that triggers the wps mode. Do you have any suggestions for how I can get the printer to connect? The wifi-direct protocol, according to wikipedia mandates wps mode. How can I trigger that after activating direct connection?

Hello Alto,

The printer does not have a WPS button on it for connecting to new devices. If you are trying to use the printer's access point connection, you can select the printer's wireless connection from the list of networks in range and then you can enter the printer's wireless password. If you do not see the printer's wireless network in the list of networks in range or if you do not have the printer's wireless password, you can refer to the steps found in the link provided HERE. The steps will show how to activate the printer's access point and how to get the password.

For help with the direct connection, you can also contact our support team at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would happy to assist.
